Experience of New Frontiers
When did you participate in the New Frontiers Programme?
2011 [it was then called the South East Enterprise Platform Programme (SEEPP)]
Where did your business idea come from?
I’ve always been interested in beer, and when I was looking for a career change, it seemed like an interesting choice.
How has the New Frontiers Programme helped you to get where you are today?
The SEEPP programme gave me an introduction to the different moving parts of running a business – it stopped me from focusing too much on production and operations, and focused me on aspects such as sales and marketing that are equally (if sometimes more) important.
What age were you when you started on the New Frontiers programme?
Not as young as I’d like to have been 😊
What advice would you give to those considering the New Frontiers programme?
Having access to a programme like New Frontiers is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has an idea for a business that they want to get off the ground, but are not quite sure how to get started.
What’s your vision for the business for the future?
Metalman Brewing has grown organically since we started in 2011, we’d like to continue this growth to steadily build our business and expand our reach. We have no plans for world domination – we simply want to continue to deliver great Waterford beer to people!
