Experience of New Frontiers

When did you participate in the New Frontiers Programme?

2009 / 2010 [the programme was then known as the South east Enterprise Platform Programme/SEEPP]

Where did your business idea come from?

My original idea was to create a virtual network of carriers, much like an uber for shipping however the platform we built to connect parcel delivery companies became a more lucrative avenue for us and we pivoted to that business model.

How has the New Frontiers Programme helped you to get where you are today?

I found the main value of the programme was getting you to focus on your business idea and to work out the details. Participating on the programme gave you access to a group of like minded peers (albeit in different industries) who were facing common problems and helped you to work out a solution. In addition the entrepreneurs that had been there before and willing to share their experiences were very valuable.

What age were you when you started on the New Frontiers programme?

Quite young.

What advice would you give to those considering the New Frontiers programme?

The best advice is to talk to customers as soon as possible. Establish if customers will buy your goods or service. Don’t just do research, sell to them. See what objections you get, try to close a deal. There are lots of great ideas, it’s all about the execution.

What’s your vision for the business for the future?

Our vision is to make personal delivery simple for eCommerce merchants and to facilitate the delivery of 100 million eCommerce deliveries by 2020
